I believe in the sun even when it is not shining.
I believe in love even when not feeling it.
I believe in God even when He is silent.

An Interesting Conversation (:
Saturday, May 2, 2009
An Atheist professor of Philosophy was speaking to his class on the problem Science has with GOD. He asked one of his students to stand and . . .
Professor : You are a religious person, aren't you, son?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, you believe in GOD?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD good?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?
(Student was silent )
Professor : You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD good?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good ?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from?
Student : From . . . GOD . . .
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil ?
(Student did not answer)
Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who created them ?
(Student had no answer)
Professor : Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son . . . Have you ever seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No , sir.
Professor : Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.
Professor : Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has.
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't.
(The lecture theatre became very quiet with this turn of events)
Student : Sir, you can have lots of Heat, even more Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of Heat, sir, just the absence of it.
(There was pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre)
Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light . . . But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is, were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?
Professor : So what is the point you are making, young man ?
Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed ? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of Life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Professor : If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going)
Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavour, Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?
(The class was in uproar)
Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?
(The class broke out into laughter)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain, felt it, touched or Smelt it? . . . No one appears to have done so. So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable)
Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son.
Student : That is it sir . . . Exactly ! The link between Man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving.
That student was Albert Einstein. (:

Life is good! God is great!
Sammie Foo and I got full marks for our presentation (which we spent only 4 hours on!)...haha! The professor was really impressed by our brief but info-packed presentation and he even upgraded my marks because he was 'positively impressed' by my volunteering to do an extra presentation to help a friend. Hoho!
So...
HELP A FRIEND TODAY!
Haha...I just came home from a meeting with Lynette and it was really good! Learnt so much about how Lynette see things and how she thinks! And she is super zai! She was quite tired today but despite all that, she still gave her best. I need to do that too man...discipline! Excellence!
Can't wait for D Zone to have more leaders and grow grow grow!
Speaking of which, have you invited a friend for Easter?!?!?!
Easter is going to be uber cool! D7's very own Da-leh Tan and CEO are getting water baptised! I'm so happy for them man! We're gonna take many many many photos of this very special day this Friday! Hoho!
For Easter, I want EGGcurd from Chomp Chomp. Muahahahahahahaa :P
I've another couple of essays more to complete tonight but it's going to be done! I somewhat like writing essays now...haha...I reckon if given the chance, I might even specialise in Ethnic American Literature! It's quite cool yo!
I really think I'll miss NTU when I graduate next year. Haha...school life rocks. If you are a student, cherish it while you can (: (: (:
What a start to the week! Edmund, Xin Hui and I went to visit Maniam yesterday! Haha it was really funny 'cos I saw his cat for the first time and the cat is REALLY HUGE man! We all agreed that if Dexter brought Maxxi over, Maxxi will bark and run away from the cat. Hah. (: Anyhow! If you do visit Maniam, please go to his room and look out for this photo of a younger Maniam! It's shocking man!!! I couldn't stop talking about it for 5 minutes when I first saw it yesterday. Haha!
By the way, Xin Hui and Edmund are quite a combo to go out with. One is lame, and the other is violent. *sigh* But thank God for them. (: They make shopping for fruits so much fun. (: (:
Alrighty, I'm off to study and complete essays! A call-out to Nicholas Sim Beng Chuan and Dexter Tan Guansheng: D7 misses you like madddd! Come back soon! (:

I've had it!
Sunday, March 29, 2009
I watched a very powerful video today, and it was exactly what I needed.
It's awesome how God comes into your life, and speak to you. Unexpected but always on time. Never too early, never too late.
Sometimes, you keep looking to the left and right, and what you see discourages you...but then God brings you right back to Him, to focus upon Him.
You fall...you cry...but then comes a point when you decide that enough is enough, and you stand up again to finish the race. You might not start it well, you might not even have it good mid-way, but either way, you finish the race.
And then, somewhere along the race, you might not see it, but He pushes through every single thing, every single situation, just to get to you. His eyes are on you, He's running towards you, and when He reaches you, the first thing He does is to put His arm around you, hold Your hand, and run with you till the end of the race.
This is my Father. (:
Romans 8:37-39
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Stop fighting, and there's no battle to begin with.
Keep fighting; it's not the end till He says it is.
He sees. He knows. He cares. He listens.
And He runs.
He runs towards you like how a father would run towards his child who's crying, who has fallen down, who's dejected.
And He fights with you, run with you.
The pain is still there, but at least there's someone else holding you up, running alongside you.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
I am weak, but You are strong.
In my weakness, Your strength is made perfect.
Run the race...fight the good fight of faith (:

Haha. I simply must put this photo up. Game's on tomorrow and I can't wait.
Like what Ivan said, there is something special about soccer fans. To me, that special something is the passion that runs in their blood. That hope, that I-refuse-to-accept-that-this-is-it attitude.
Anfield's on.

I love my schoolmates from NTU. Special call-out to Han Cheryl. Saved my butt by providing me a website. Haah! HL302 mostly settled. (:
CNY has been good...pretty much the same, except that cuzzies and I have made a deal to go out together again one day soon...7 of us...ranging between a 25-year-old man to a 11-year-old girl. It is gonna be so much fun.
So.
Many thoughts went through my head today. Thought I would put it here but I decided to do it another day. Hah. I like thoughts. It's like having alone time even when you are walking about. You catch your thoughts, you know yourself better, you know where to work on, where to struggle, where to take out.
I really have no idea what else to put up here. Words are all juggled up in my head and I need to organize them soon. Hah.
Looking forward to service this Saturday. One week seems like eternity.
Happy Moo Year y'all, and to all, a merry good night!

I am awake!!
Hallelujah! I need to get back to being an owl~!
Life is good. God is great!
Discipleship brings you to the next level man. I was in a deep deep valley, and then God said...you have to go through this...you have to expand, and you can handle all these.
The great thing about being a Christian is that hope, and that guidance that is coated with love. You are in a valley, but His voice is always there. He is always on the macroview, leading you out of the valley.
Elevate my thoughts to His thoughts. I can stretch, I can do this.
I think it.
I envision it.
I hear it from Him.
I confess it.
I am going to act on it.
There is no time to nua, no time for nonsense, no time to drift. Everytime you slack a second, you pull the whole team back, and it accumulates into 2-3 minutes? Haha.
It is the thing about making decisions, like what Pastor How shared...it translates into energy. You can be so tired, but you just keep going, keep running.
I am enjoying it.
D7 is awesome. We are a great team (:
People are wanting to rise up. People are rising up. Everyone is taking the burden. One by one.
Projection is cool. I need to take more charge, rise up more, change more, do more, create more. Haha. Perfect service.
Symphony...the best musicians man. We are less than 15 but we can play like we are 30 or 50. No longer fear in us but faith, hope and love. His love translates into our music.
New Generation! A whole batch of teamers inspiring, working, building. Devil, you better tremble man...hide in your underground tunnel or escape...because your kingdom is falling, falling, falling...
Haven't you heard how the youths pray?
Haven't you heard the roar of our hearts?
Haven't you heard the news?
We are taking charge now.
I am happy, because I did well for my exams, and I will do better next semester (:
I am happy, because I can really do things now, and stretch somemore.
I love to support my leaders...it's such a great feeling, y'know.
Anyhow, I am a little bummed that I am going to miss Friends' Night and the first services of 2009.
Do you know how D7 is really reaching out and breaking through?! Haha I told Dexter if D7 brokethrough 25 this weekend, I will stay in Genting and not come back. :P
It is gonna be really awesome tomorrow...just wait and see...Dawn and the team did a fantastic job man!
Then my new best friend, Wei Jie, is leading Friday's training session.
There are too many great awesome things going on. (:
By the way, I have not packed my bag yet and I am leaving tomorrow night. Hahahahaha.
My mind is in a mess now, and I am going to sleep. NG training tomorrow and it is going to be awesome!
I'm chionging all my books in Genting. Haha. Finished Twilight, reading New Moon, Screwtape Letters and my Final Theory book. Persuading my mum to get me the 3rd book of the Stephenie Meyer series tomorrow. Wish me success (:
Oh! Before I bid goodbye, start on your BRP! Excitement, fulfillment, satisfaction and growth guaranteed! (:
