Devotion - Hillsong United

I've been running, trying to be one who sees

I've been working, this salvation out on my knees
There is nothing better than knowing
We are redeemed
I'm believing, trusting in creative hands
I am praying for our world to bow to Your plan
And this one thought is unmistakable
To take up my cross and follow You Lord

When You stand, the tall tress and mountains bow
When You speak, the fiercest of oceans is still
And I see the sinner seek devotion
The lost become chosen, and I fall to my knees

I'm forgiven by a Savior who did not deserve death
He was blameless and I was lost in shamefulness
I'm delivered, but it doesn't seem right
Unless I keep my eyes focus on the Savior who gave His life
In the middle of a world that denies its beliefs
It is breaking apart at the very seams
There is one thing to be alive for
And it's to take up my cross and follow You Lord

When You stand, the tall trees and mountains bow
When You speak, the fiercest of oceans is still
And I see the sinner seek devotion
The lost become chosen, and I fall to my knees
I will take up my cross and follow Lord where You lead me

And I will take up my cross and follow wherever You go

When You stand, the tall trees and mountains bow
When You speak, the fiercest of oceans are still
And I see the sinner seek devotion
The lost become chosen, and I fall to my knees

What can I say? Haah. Genting is not Heart of God Church.
It's been a few hours, but I miss church already.
I miss Pastors.
I miss Rinnah.
I miss my leaders.
I miss my CG mates.
I miss everyone of you, my spiritual brothers and sisters.

I heard about the good news though! Praise God!
Johns and Janes are coming in (:

I had to wait for 8 hours today before my family could move into our room, and what better way to spend that waiting duration than to pray?! Hah.
It's so amazing, praying at 5:45am, spending time in His presence, speaking to Him...knowing that even though I'm physically far away from my Home, the one thing I can always do is to keep my spiritual parents and family in prayer.
Seeing it in 4D...a CG of spiritual warriors, God's soldiers, taking a stand on the frontline.

John 6:35-69
Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

At this the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." They said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?"

"Stop grumbling among yourselves," Jesus answered. "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."

Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever." He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

Many Disciples Desert Jesus

On hearing it, many of his disciples said, "This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?"

Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, "Does this offend you?

What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. He went on to say, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him."

From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.

"You do not want to leave too, do you?" Jesus asked the Twelve.

Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God."

I am unapologetic about my radicality.

John 6:67
"You do not want to leave too, do you?" Jesus asked the Twelve.

To the logical mind, they think it as cannibalism.
To the logical mind, they think it's a waste of time and talk.
But I'm unapologetic about my radical faith.
Go if you will, I'm staying, because I know whom I have believed in.

Lord, to whom shall I go? You have the words of eternal life. I believe and know that You are the Holy One of God.

YES! Xabi is staying on in Liverpool, 'cause Juventus ain't getting him! Haaah!

It's 5 hours away from waking up to head off for work with my mama, but I simply must blog about this.

A simple line, but so much significance.
J.R.R Tolkien is da man. (:

Go watch LOTR if you haven't!! Or watch it AGAIN! It's one of the best movies! (: The war scenes, the war cries, the passion, the fellowship, the King...

I was watching it in my brother's room a few weeks back, and there was something Sam said to Frodo that jumped straight at my heart, and it still resounds in my heart to this very day. Was doing my QT yesterday morning and that whole line just came back to me so strongly.

'Come, Mr. Frodo!' he cried. 'I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you and it as well.'
Beautiful, ain't it?

Luke 23:26
As they led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.

Matthew 27:32
As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross.

Mark 15:21
A certain man from Cyrene, Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross.

I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you and it as well.

In all 3 books, this man who walked and struggled alongside Jesus moments before His cruxification...his whole act...described in one verse. In one sentence.
He wasn't even one of the 12 disciples. He was just the 'man from Cyrene'.
I want to meet him when I go to Heaven man. Ask him how he felt and what were his thoughts when he struggled with Jesus to carry that heavy Cross, when he first looked into the eyes of our Creator.

I can't carry the work that You did for me, but I can carry You and the Cross in my life.

Luke 9:23
Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

*****

'Now for it! Now for the last gasp!' said Sam as he struggled to his feet. He bent over Frodo, rousing him gently. Frodo groaned; but with a great effort of will he staggered up; and then he fell upon his knees again. He raised his eyes with difficulty to the dark slopes of Mount Doom towering above him, and then pitifully he began to crawl forward on his hands.

Sam looked at him and wept in his heart, but no tears came to his dry and stinging eyes. 'I said I'd carry him, if it broke my back,' he muttered, 'and I will!'

'Come, Mr. Frodo!' he cried. 'I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you and it as well. So up you get! Come on, Mr. Frodo dear! Sam will give you a ride. Just tell him where to go, and he'll go.'

Theodore.

Gentlemen: you have now reached the last point. If anyone of you doesn’t mean business let him say so now. An hour from now will be too late to back out. Once in, you’ve got to see it through. You’ve got to perform without flinching whatever duty is assigned you, regardless of the difficulty or the danger attending it. If it is garrison duty, you must attend to it. If it is meeting fever, you must be willing. If it is the closest kind of fighting, anxious for it. You must know how to ride, how to shoot, how to live in the open. Absolute obedience to every command is your first lesson. No matter what comes you mustn’t squeal. Think it over — all of you. If any man wishes to withdraw he will be gladly excused, for others are ready to take his place. -Theodore Roosevelt-
Address to U.S. Army recruits (1898), as quoted in U.S. Army Field Manual 22-5 (1986)

I think there is only one quality worse than hardness of heart and that is softness of head. -Theodore Roosevelt-

He is the man of the moment, and I am gonna name my son Theodore, not Caleb. Haah!
